Salerno is a perfect center of mass from the guest’s point of view travelling through Campania region. The Amalfi Coast is just few kilometres far from Salerno, and also the guest can easily reach the magnificent Reggia of Caserta and of the Unesco’s Property in Naples, the plain air and the snow of Irpinia and of the Park of Picentini, the spa and the eno-gastronomic tours of Vallo di Diano and Benevento and finally the clean and clear sea of the Cilento Coast and of Ischia, Capri and Procida islands.
In these last 10 years, Salerno was the protagonist of a great work of urban regeneration and environmental improvements: ideas have been developed in short times and this improved the city life quality; new ways to enter in Salerno (Metrò del Mare, Lungoirno, the city subway that will be open in short times, and the new airport of Pontecagnano), the environment respect, thanks also to the separate collection of rubbish and the environmental improvements, welfare and security, but above all the urban strategy where the base concept is “the outskirts mus become monumental and the historic centre must be hygienic” (o. Bohigas): so Salerno becomes part of the most important tourist circuits in the world.
Salerno and its province represent a reality outside the ordinary, to be appreciated, to be lived, to be tastes with all senses, and has a thousand-year gastronomic tradition. Our guests can taste Mozzarella, Limoncello of the Amalfi Coast, the white fig of Cilento, our Docg wines and our Dop extra vergin olive oil, the pork brawn of Gioi, the tunny fish of Cetara and the anchovies of Salerno, the chestnut of Picentini’s Mounts, the pastries made with chocolate and chestnuts or the pastries struffoli with honey, the artichoke of Paestum and the biologic specialities as the Buffalo steak slices, yoghurt, ricotta cheese, the Buffalo ice cream and other specialities that deserve a trip in Campania region and above all Salerno and its province.
Salerno is a living city: with a lively movida where the guest can plunge himself “anema e core” (with his soul and heart)! Many theatres and cinemas with a rich and a farefront showing, that enrich the tourist proposal of Salerno at every hour and every day of the week.
