How to reach Salerno,Campania,Amalfi,Paestum,Positano,Naples,Pompeii,Capri,Ischia,Sorrento

BY FLIGHT

Naples Capodichino Airport, is about 50 km far from Salerno. There are direct flights from and to the following national cities: Bergamo, Bologna, Cagliari, Catania, Genova, Milan, Palermo, Rome, Turin, Trieste, Venice and Verona.

From Naples Capodichino Airport you can reach Salerno in different ways:

• By bus - there is a bus of Sita S.p.a. that departs four times at day in working days and the schedule running are 5.50,10.15,17.30,21.40 (travel time about 60 minutes); on Sunday the number of the bus running is reduced. You can phone the number 089/3856494 – or visit the website www.sitabus.it ;

• By train - It exists a regular bus service from the airport to the railway station of Naples that runs every 20 minutes (Azienda Napoletana Mobilità Line 3S and the private society ALIBUS – Toll free number 800-639525) and from Naples railway station local trains to Salerno run every hour (travel time about 50 minutes). • car rental with driver : il costs 60 euros (travel time 40 -50 minutes) you can book this service calling the number 089/799082.

• By taxi-cab  (travel time about 40-50 minutes). It costs about 70/80 euros;

 

BY TRAIN

You have to get off in the railway station of Salerno. Here arrive national and international trains. You can visit the website http://www.ferroviedellostato.it . The railway station of Salerno is furnished of several shops: newsstand, bancomat, bar- estaurant; moreover is the terminal of all the urban and extra urban bus lines, as well as the city terminal of Taxi-cab.

BY CAR 

Coming from North:  from motorway A1 Mi-Na enter the motorway A30 Caserta – Salerno , than go on untill the tollgate. Enter the turnout AV-SA and than for a short distace the motorway A3 SA-RC north direction and you can leave the road in Fratte or after 2 km in Salerno centre.

Coming from Naples  enter the motorway A3 Naples – Salerno: leave the road in Vietri sul Mare  an than turn right to Salerno centre

Coming from South : enter the motorway A3 Salerno- Reggio Calabria: leave the road in Pontecagnano and than take the ring road direction Fratte, exit Salerno centre/torrione.

BY BOAT

Situated to the limits of the city, the port of Salerno has an easy access even to the motorway as well as to the railway station. From port passages you can directly reach the viaduct, that leads to the motorway A3 (Salerno - Reggio Calabria). Moreover the ring road of Salerno joins, avoiding the city centre, the motorway junction of Salerno with the South. Salerno is a port of call of the “Sea Motorways”, it has regular connections for Messina, Catania, Palermo, Olbia, Tunisi, Malta.
